Salt Lake City Arts Council Asset Map and Gap Analysis Study

A multi-phased assessment of arts-related gaps and opportunities in Salt Lake City

The Challenge

While in a state of transition and gearing up for long-range strategic planning, the Salt Lake City Arts Council contracted Union Creative Agency to conduct a five phased assessment of the arts in Salt Lake City. This work aimed to better understand local arts-related strengths and opportunities as well as provide insight to the Salt Lake City Arts Council about their organizational structure within the community.

The Outcome

Union Creative Agency assessed Salt Lake City asset map data, two decades of Salt Lake City Master Plans in search of arts-related mentions, and Arts Council organizational structures throughout Utah and across the nation. Union Creative Agency also hosted two stakeholder roundtables and one community open house.

Recommendation reports were provided to the Salt Lake City Arts Council in December 2018.
